"The Southern Alps 100 Sporting Clays Bust Up"

On Saturday 21 December 2002 the Trail Blazers Gun Club held it's second sporting clay shoot. Sporting clay shooters came from near and far. Rain coats were the order of the day, and the 35 shooters did shoot the odd clay. There were ten stands, mai mais of tree ferns and brush. The targets flew from behind trees, over bush clad cliffs and from behind rush bushes. Milltown and the Southern Alps awoke to the sound of shotgun fire, and many of the targets were smoked. Later back at the clubhouse for a sausage or two, and the beer flowed and the tall stories too.
